The History Of Charlie Hebdo

Charlie Hebdo is a French satirical magazine which reached worldwide attention after 7.1 .2015 when terrorists killed 17 people.

Charlie Hebdo was founded in 1970 but was unsuccessful and was stopped because of lack of money. 1992 Charlie Hebdo was revived and became the second most popular satirical magazine after "Le canard enchaîne" in France.

2006 Charlie Hebdo began with Mohammed cartoons. Because of these cartoons CH was very often accused by French moslems and the Catholic church (because they very often made cartoons about them , more than about moslems) , but Charlie Hebdo won the judicial accusations each time.

The first attack

On 2.November 2011 somebody threw molotow cocktails on Charlie Hebdo's house and set it on fire. Nearly everything was destroyed by the flames. (The newspaper "Liberation" at this time gave them their rooms to continue their work.) "Liberation" is owned by the Rothschild family.

Which is an very old banker family and one of the richests families in the world. Liberation and Charlie Hebdo are both published by Rothschild. At this time a Turkish hackergroup hacked the website of CH . Their facebook account was closed after many threads.

On 19.September 2012 Charlie Hebdo provided new Mohammed cartoons at a sensitive moment because of the situation in Islamic countries. The French governement had to close their embassird in 20 Islamic countries at this time.

On the 2. January, 2013 CH released a comic biography about Mohammed ,the Iranian governement was displeased.

Al-Qaeda set CH on their "Dead or alive" list in their magazine "Inspire"

THE ATTACK

10:20 7.1.2015.Two men in black clothing and with AK 47 guns went to the adress Rue Nicolas Appert Nr.6 in Paris. But this was the wrong address. They went to the news agency "Bayoo" which is in the same house where they asked "is this here Charlie Hebdo?".

Then they went to the right adress, Nr.10 where they killed 12 people. (The first emergency call came from Charlie Hebdo journalists and NOT from Bayoo!!?).

A few people were able to run away. They went onto the roof of the building where they filmed how the two men began to shoot at a police car (the policeman drove backwards and survives) then they saw the two men driving away.

In the Boulevard Richard Linoir they came up against a policeman and beat him down. The policeman lay on the ground and then they shot him. They moved back to the car and one of them picked up a shoe which had fallen out of the car as they arrived. The police later found a glove belonging to the terrorists there.

11:40 Place du Conolel Fabien :They had a car crash with another car.

Rue de Meaux: They left their car behind there. The police found molotow cocktails (On one of the molotow cocktails was the fingerprint of Chèrif Kouachi) there, a flag and the idendity card of Said Kouachi, one the terrorists.

The police noe knew who the terrorists were (the Kouachi brothers were yet known and had been observed by the police before).

Porte de Pantin: They stole a car without hurting the owner.

Thursday 8.1. 10:30 The brothers were identified at a gas station when they robbed chocolate bars, drinks and fuel, 60 Km from Paris.

They drove back in the direction of Paris. Half way between the gas station and Paris they stopped at in a printing factory.

Amedy Coulibaly

A jogger was killed on 7.1. probably by Amedy Coulibaly.

9. 1.2015: With a camera (he filmed his raid) and an AK 47,a machine pistol, two granades, explosives and two guns he went into a Jewish supermarket and killed 4 people. He took the other 17 people in the supermarket hostage.

He called the police and said "You know who I am ". He called the TV channel BFMTV and said that his action had been planned with the Couachi brothers. And he demanded that the police should let the Couachi brothers go who where still hiding in the printing factory.

He also said that he was a member of the "Islamic State". Later he called the police and wanted to telephone with the Prime Minister or the President. He demanded that France should stop its military operations in Islamic countries.

17.00 Coulibaly began to pray. 15 minutes later the police started to assault

A few hours before, in the printing factory: Said and Chèrif Couachi were in the printing factory, the owner Michael Catalano was there too and said that the brothers were 'friendly' to him, he was afraid but offered them coffee. The brothers said that it would end here (they said it as if it was not planned, resigned) and allowed Catalano to call the police.

One hundret policemen and soldiers sourrounded the building.

The TV channel BFMTV (which had telephoned with Coulibaly before) called them . Chérif said that they were defenders of the prophet. Al Kaida in Yemen (AQAP) had sent them and that he had been in Yemen where he was skilled. He said that he was well known by intelligence services and wondered why they had let him do this.

He was asked if he had the intention to kill further

I don`t know

"Have we killed civillians the last two days?"

You have killed journalists

"Have we killed civilians or normal citizens?"

after this Chérif said that they were not killers, only defenders of the prophet.

President Francois Hollande personnally gave the order for assault which started after 5 p.m.

Said and Chérif went out shooting around and after a few metres they had been killed.

What is strange?

- The members of Bayoo didn´t call the police

-Why did one of the terrorists pick up a shoe which had fallen out of the car?

-Why had he left his identity card in the car?

-Why had one of them left his glove at the scene of crime ?

-Amedey Coulibaly had lost a cloth when he killed the policewoman. He could have been identified with this.

Amedy Coulibaly said that he had been sent by the IS.

Al-Queda and the IS are enemies.

Al-Queda took responsibility for the attack on Charlie Hebdo, but not for the actions of Coulibaly, but also called him a martyr.

Charlie Hebdo after the attacks

The editors of CH who survived decided to release 3 million copies of a new CH with , to show that a pencil is more powerful than violence. (The newspaper "Liberation" gave them their rooms again).

On the 14. January the new CH was released in France but was quickly out of stock.

They had to print more (over 7 million copies) because everyone wanted the new CH.

Because the copies were very rare, the prices were very high. On Ebay you could buy a CH which normally costs 3 Euro for a price of between 10 and 2,500 Euro.

18 January: Protests against CH in Islamic Countries (many people were killed and hurt)

In France and around the world people went out to show that they were not afraid and to show their solidarity.

In France, 3.7 million people went on the road. In Paris about 50 heads of governments walked together.

The main sentence was "Je suis Charlie" which means "I am Charlie"
