My dear class!

A little while ago I realised, that I actually don’t know much about you! About who you are or what your life looks like. That sort of made me sad. So I thought I’d tell you a little bit about me to make a start, and perhaps you want to tell me a bit more about yourselves after that as well.

I am 36 years old and I was born in Vienna. My mum and dad were Viennese too. Mostly I grew up with my mother, as my parents got divorced when I was only three months old. I have four siblings. My two elder siblings are called Nora, who is 39, and Roman, who is 43 years old.

The three of us have the same father. My two younger brothers, René (24 years) and Enric (20 years), are my half-brothers, so they are the sons of my mum’s second husband, my stepfather. My stepfather was Spanish but he had lived in German speaking countries most of his life.

When I was 18 he died on chancer, which was very hard for my little brothers especially.

I hardly knew my real father. At the age of 16 I saw him for the first time. Unfortunately, he also died on chancer when I was 21 years old.

When I was 17 years old I already lived on my own. I had a very little flat back then. I still went to school and worked as a baby-sitter and cleaning lady to earn my living. When I was 18 I moved together with my elder sister Nora and with 19 I finished my A-Levels.

After that I went to University to study History and Ethology. I always worked next to my studies. For different reasons, I didn’t finish University, but decided to become a teacher at the age of 23. I finished the Teacher Training College and then went to England to carry on studying and working for 2 ½ years.

When I came back to Vienna, I worked in an Austrian school before I went to Spain to work as a language trainer and to live with someone I loved very much at that time. However, that didn’t really work out so I came back to Vienna.

I made friends with many, very nice people there. However, I had hardly any money and no savings left, which eventually became a problem. Also, I wanted to have a “normal” life again…earing my own money and do, what I know best: teaching languages.

Now I back working in a school, which is a big change in my life, but I quite like it. Mostly, anyway! ;-)

These days I haven’t got a boyfriend. The only relationship I have right now is the one I have with my two cat-boys, Merlin and Joshua!  I really do love my cats.

In my free time I visit a Yoga course, go to meditation classes, or listen to music. I love R&B, funk music, rock and Hip Hop. My favourite singers are Pink, Alica Keys and Joss Stone. Other than that I read books, clean up my flat or meet friends for a drink in the evening.

However, at the moment, I don’t have a lot of free time. I work quite a lot. I think about the students I am teaching, I wonder about who they are, what they need and what I can do to make them learn English in the best way possible. Well, I guess, the English language is the biggest love of my life…

So then, who are you??

Where exactly do you live in Vienna? Do you have a room on your own or are you sharing a room?
What does your room look like?

Do you have any siblings? If yes, what are their names and how old are they?

Do you live with your mum or dad or both?

How about other relatives, like aunts, uncles, cousins or grandparents? Who do like most in your family?

How do you spend your free time? What do you enjoy doing? What not?

Do you get any pocket money? If yes, how do you send it?

Who is your best friend at the moment? Why

Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend at the moment?
