Dear professor, dear classmates,
today I want to tell you something about Tesla. Tesla is an American
company that specializes in electric automotives, energy storage and
solar panel manufacturing.
Firstly
I want to tell you something about the history and the visions from
Tesla. Then I want to talk about the different models from the cars
and then about the other things Tesla produces.
Tesla
was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that
people didn’t need to compromise to drive electric. The CEO from
Tesla is Elon Musk. Furthermore he is the CEO from SpaceX. SpaceX is
a private American aerospace manufacturer and space transport
services company headquartered in Hawthorne, California. But now back
to Tesla. Tesla wants to show that electric vehicles can be better,
quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars. Today, Tesla builds
not only all-electric vehicles but also infinitely scalable clean
energy generation and storage products. Tesla believes that the
faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a
zero-emission future it will better
The
Roadster was launched in 2008 unveiled Tesla’s cutting-edge battery
technology and electric powertrain. From there, Tesla designed the
world’s first ever premium all-electric sedan from the ground up –
Model S – which has become the best car in its class in every
category. Combining safety, performance, and efficiency. It sets a
record for the lowest probability of occupant injury. Model S has
reset the world’s expectations for the car of the 21st century with
the longest range of any electric vehicle, over-the-air software
updates that make it better over time, and a record 0-60 mph
acceleration time of 2.28 seconds as measured by Motor Trend. The
model S also has an Autopilot. The Autopilot provides a stress-free
driving experience. The model S specs are a Acceleration from 2.55
from 0-60 mph, a range from 315 miles and All-Wheel Drive. The model
S was sold 25.200 times in one year. Until 2017 the car was sold
101.300 times. In 2015, Tesla expanded its product line with Model X,
the safest, quickest and most capable sport utility vehicle in
history that holds 5-star safety ratings across every category from
the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Completing CEO
Elon Musk’s “Secret Master Plan,” in 2016, Tesla introduced
Model 3, a low-priced, high-volume electric vehicle that began
production in 2017. The model 3 achieves 220 miles of range while
starting at only 35.000 $ incentives. Soon after, Tesla unveiled the
safest, most comfortable truck ever – Tesla Semi – which is
designed to save owners at least $200,000 over a million miles based
on fuel costs alone.
Until
2022 Tesla wants to develop a new Roadstar. The new supercar should
have a top speed of over 250 mph that is about 400 kilometres per
hour and also a range of 620 miles. That is a range of 1000
kilometres.
Tesla’s
vehicles are produced at its factory in Fremont, California, where
the vast majority of the vehicle’s components are also made. As
Tesla continues to expand its product line, Tesla’s production plan
is also set to increase to a rate of 500,000 vehicles a year by 2018.
To
create an entire sustainable energy ecosystem, Tesla also
manufactures a unique set of energy solutions, Powerwall, Powerpack
and Solar Roof, enabling homeowners, businesses, and utilities to
manage renewable energy generation, storage, and consumption.
Supporting Tesla’s automotive and energy products is Gigafactory 1
– a facility designed to significantly reduce battery cell costs
and, by 2018, produce more lithium-ion batteries annually than were
produced worldwide in 2013. By bringing cell production in-house,
Tesla manufactures batteries at the volumes required to meet
production goals, while creating thousands of jobs.
And
this is just the beginning. Tesla continues to make products
accessible and affordable to more and more people, ultimately
accelerating the advent of clean transport and clean energy
production. Electric cars, batteries, and renewable energy generation
and storage already exist independently, but when combined, they
become even more powerful – that’s the future Tesla wants.
In
summary I think it will take a long time until electric cars are
affordable for everyone, because starting price is 35000$ up to
230000$. Moreover, when the time comes, it will be a very good
alternative for gasoline cars.
