Actual Career, records and important facts:

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro,

he was born on February 5th, 1985 and is commonly known as Cristiano Ronaldo or CR7 in the social media. Cristiano is a Portuguese football player who plays as a forward for the Spanish football club Real Madrid and serves as captain of the Portuguese national football team. Ronaldo currently holds the record of being the most expensive player in football history after having transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United in a deal worth £80 million (€94m, US$132m). He played in the youth for Portuguese football clubs like Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting Lissabon before he moved to Manchester United. His contract now with Real Madrid is believed to have made him the highest-paid football player in the world with £21million a year. He renewed his contract til 2018 and is now worth £100 million but you have to pay a billion euro to buy him before his contract ends.

Childhood and family:

Cristiano Ronaldo's family was really poor, so they didn't had a lot of money. And he even hadn't a great childhood with his father as alcoholic which brought problems into the family. He didn't liked school so much but he loved football, his mother told in a interview with Portuguese magazines that everyday even if he was tired, when he got back home from school that he always went playing football and didn't liked it much to do homework. She also told that Ronaldo was popular with other students at school, but he was expelled at the age of 14 after he threw a chair at his teacher. Ronaldo once said the reason he did it was because the teacher disrespected him. Despite it being a negative thing, it turned into a great turning point in his life. His mother then encouraged him to focus all his attention on football which he did and turned him into an international sensation. Ronaldo has an older brother and two older sisters. His father passed away in 2005 when Ronaldo was just 20 years old. In 2007 his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer so he had to face a lot of personal challenges. Now he lives in Madrid and has a girlfriend, he's in a relationship with the Russian model Irina Shayk since 2010 and he has a son who goes by the name Cristiano Ronaldo Junior.

Beginning steps of his career:

Ronaldo began his career as a youth player for Andorinha, a little club in Portugal near Lissabon, where he played for two years, then he moved to Nacional which is also in Portugal and near to Lissabon. In 1997, he made a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Lissabon CP. In 2000 when he was 15 years old he was diagnosed with with a racing heart, a condition that might have forced him to give up playing football. He had an operation in which a laser was used to cauterise the area of his heart that was causing the problem. The surgery took place in the morning and Ronaldo was discharged from hospital by the end of the afternoon. He resumed training only a few days later. He is a very motivated sportsman and that also showed his love to football. The heart disease might had ended Ronaldos career. But he fought against it and also worked hard in the gym, he used weights on his foots to exercise which made him very fast. After getting better  Ronaldo's precocious talent caught the attention of many football managers and also from Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson which signed the 18-year-old for £12.24 million in 2003.The following season, Cristiano won his first club honor, the FA Cup, and reached the Euro 2004 final with Portugal, in which tournament he scored his first international goal. This was a great way to expand his career

Personality and Engagement:

After the tournament he started to get more famous and he built himself up a reputation which brought him a lot of fans and also a lot of haters. Ronaldo is called “cry-baby” because he's always dissatisfied when he passes the ball and his teammate doesn't score. But only because he want his team to succeed. Ronaldo is also called arrogant and bad hearted  because he doesn't like to lose. He said in an interview with the mirror that it makes him sad that people call him arrogant and hate him but it even makes him stronger and motivates him to be a better person. There are a lot of people that hate him but I really can't understand why. Cristiano does not drink any alcohol because of it reminds him of his father and simply because he lives healthy. He also does not smoke or takes drugs and he hasn't any tattoos on his skin. Cristiano donates a lot of money to charities and he also regulary donates blood. He also works with foundations like UNICEF, World Vision, Save the Children, Cahonas Scotland and Aid Still Required. But Ronaldo also donates money without telling it to the media. Just a couple months ago he payed a operation of a brain diseased 10 months old baby. In November 2012, Ronaldo sold the golden boot he had won in 2011 for €1.5 million and gave the money to fund school's for children in Gaza. In December 2012, Ronaldo joined FIFA's '11 for Health' programm to raise awareness amongst kids of how to steer clear of conditions including drug addiction, HIV, malaria and obesity. If you don't believe me that he's a very nice and kindhearted person, read this story where Cristiano admits that he owes his succesful career to one of his closest friends, Albert Fantrau.

"I have to thank my friend Albert for my success. We played together for a youth club. When people from Sporting Lissabon arrived, they told us that whoever scored more goals would be accepted to their Academy. We won that game 3-0, I scored the first goal, Albert scored the second, and the third was a goal that impressed everyone. Albert went to one on one with the goalkeeper. I was running next to him, he went round the keeper, all he needed to do was just to get the ball into the empty net. But, he passed it to me and I scored. I was accepted to the Academy. After the match, I approached him and asked him "why" and he answered; "You're better than me". Several weeks later, the journalist went to Albert's house and asked whether the story was true. He confirmed. He also said that his career as a football player finished after that match and he is now unemployed. "But where did you get such a gorgeous house, a car? You seemed to be a rich person. You also maintain your family ... .. Where is all this from?" asked the journalist. Albert proudly replied; it's from Cristiano.
